It’s been a few weeks now… and I’m actually enjoying Wrath quite a lot. Everyone seems to have gotten to level 80 by now and are complaining that it’s too easy (see: guild) , but I’m only 73 at the moment and I find more enjoyment in the game by just taking it slowly and enjoying the atmosphere of the new zones. I, uh, also keep making silly diversions instead of levelling, like grinding Timbermaw Hold to exalted, or fishing from 1 to 250, but I’m weird like that ^^; I’m also limiting myself so I can only play on Wednesday and Sunday nights, which seems to be working pretty well with my schedule.
My aim for the new expansion is questing – slowly but surely, I hope to work through all the quests available on Northrend. Thankfully, there’s now achievements that can tell me when I’ve done all the quests, so that makes things a little easier. I’ve completed all the quests in Borean Tundra (all 140 or so) and halfway through Howling Fjord, and it’s good to see the return of Murlocs and Kobolds, albeit slightly trickier than their Elwynn Forest counterparts ^^; As far as the difficulty for solo questing goes, I’ll agree that it’s pretty easy – being in Karazhan and Gruul’s Lair epic gear, there’s no trouble at all killing any mobs, even managing the odd group quest solo… and no gear replacement so far. At least, not from quests.
I’m running through dungeons this time around. I was a latecomer to the Burning Crusade expansion, and I found it hard to get groups together for the Outland instances as I was levelling (everyone was level 70, and just running heroics). I’ve managed to run The Nexus and Udgarde Keep with PUGs, and it’s been pretty successful (bar the odd retard that needed to be kicked out the group for acting like an ass). Pretty level designs, fun boss fights (not too hard, not too easy), and I also find myself replacing my purple gear with blues… that’s my only complaint – my avatar now looks a little less pretty without a giant glowing purple staff.
Overall, a good game so far, but at my current pace, It’ll be a while before I see some of the later 80-only stuff. And to be honest, I don’t really care ^^ Expect a normal game post in the next few days, once I finish Banjo-Kazooie on the XBLA…
