Time For Some R&R…

It’s nice to take a break every once in a while… maybe I’m due for one when I feel my eyes drooping and my wrists going numb while raiding last night. So, no World of Warcraft, no gaming, just lazing about all day… might even pick up a book, god forbid.

Malthym’s doing alright, still levelling in HIllsbrad Foothills, but I’ve run out of quests. I think I’ll have to move over to southern Barrens to find some more. Jaide is slowly creeping towards her goal of 1k +spell damage (currently at 926), I need to run a few more AVs in order to get a PvP ring, and then the usual Kara badge runs so I can get my hands on a decent epic weapon. Oh, and grind my Aldor reputation so I can get a most awesome neck from the SSO… but not today. I need a break. Logged on last night to say hi to the guild, was dragged straight into a Gruul raid, and then tagged along for my first time in Serpentshrine Cavern, which didn’t go so well. Got Lurker down on the second go, but then wiped twice on Lady Vashj… oh dear. Maybe later then, because Be Imba! currently says I’m ready for ZA ^^

Surprise Buttsecks!

Because that’s what rogues are all about, right? Even though my existing alt must be the most awesome character in the history of the world because she’s called Tonks, she’s just too damn boring to level, and plays exactly like my shadow priest. So I’ve switched over to a more populated server (Stormrage), and started a Blood Elf rogue called Malthym (Armory link will work when someone can be arsed to update it)… I’m enjoying it. Blasted through Eversong Woods today, hoping to get Ghostlands completed tomorrow and maybe further. Oh, wait, crap, I’m out all day. Thursday, then. Maybe.

It’s depressing that he looks like Sora from Kingdom Hearts, ain’t it. Oh well.

On a side note, the bed I’ve had in my room for the past 10+ years is now gone, and I’m sleeping on a mattress on the floor until the new one arrives… my room looks totally different. Holy fuck.

No Rest For The Living…

Another day without WoW… I just can’t be bothered at all. The only thing I can do with Jaide is grind dailies and money to get gems, and my alt is boring to play. I may re-roll as a non-caster at some point, maybe a rogue (just so I can be a dick to everyone I meet).

I was trying to play the best game in the world today, but it doesn’t seem to work in my modern shiny computer – The solution was to take my so-called ‘Linux server’ that still wasn’t working properly (I blame NVIDIA), lob Windows on it, and install the game on there. For once, shitty system specifications can be an advantage! Plus, it gives me an excuse to hook it up to my shiny new monitor, like so:

And the best game of all time? Why of course, it has to be Grim Fandango. I miss the old Lucasarts, the one that made good games like this and the Monkey Island series before they started milking the Star Wars cash cow dry. The humour is just perfect – enough witty banter to keep you interested, and it doesn’t feel forced at all, say, such as Jack Keane, which is trying to copy of LEC’s comedy and failing. The pre-rendered graphics aren’t too shabby for nowadays (looks even nicer in 22″ widescreen, mind you), and surprisingly, gamepad controls work perfectly. I’ve always used a keyboard in the past, but this works better.

So yes, go play this game. If you don’t, then you deserve to be dragged out into the streets and shot.
