Burning The Screen.

August 11, 2008

You know, it’s really hard to write something when I haven’t been playing WoW.  Couldn’t be arsed with dailies today, thought it was time for a break to just chill and watch television for a bit. It’s doubtful that anyone apart from me and Allan really know about this guy (don’t think I’ve really pushed it that hard on anyone), but if you have some spare time you ought to check up on a guy called Charlie Brooker.

Charlie Brooker’s Screenwipe is a television show on BBC Four hosted by the man himself, and it’s hilariously funny. I guess it won’t appeal to every person’s sense of humour (seeing as most of it is Charlie hurling abuse at people and things), but the man’s hatred-filled personality just makes it all the more hilarious as he points out how stupid and crap television is nowadays, and we’re all just mindless idiots. And he’s got a point, it is shit, what with every other show being the usual reality bollocks. He also has a column over in The Guardian every week, and two very funny books published (with a third coming in October, can’t wait), so you can catch him on their website. If you want to watch the show, this guy here has uploaded every episode on Youtube, and here’s a choice clip for you to enjoy…

New York, New York…

July 2, 2008

So here I am, sitting in a Holiday Inn in the Middle of Fucking Nowhere, NY (I think Mark Twain’s buried here, but that’s about all I know), and this computer runs like a piece of shit. Still, I might as well let you know how I’m getting on.

New York is… well, hectic. that’s the only way I can describe it. The Empire State Building is tall, and there’s no sign of a naked cowboy in Times Square, unfortunately. Spamalot was awesome as well, all you UK folks should go check it out in London, seeing as you can’t get to Broadway…

I’m almost ashamed to say it, but I bough Guitar Hero DS yesterday, and I’m actually enjoying it. Yes, I look like a right and utter retard whilst ‘rocking out’, and the addon is a bit uncomfortable to hold, but you get the hang of it after a while. Also been keeping myself busy with the Charlie Brooker books (thanks for the recommendation, Allan!), as well as watching I, My, Me! Strawberry Eggs! (fucked up beyond belief, but thanks to Matt for the recommendation anyway ^^;). I’ll add some pics to this post (and probably add a little more text as well) when I get the chance, so for now, adios!
